The Alumni of Color Initiative

Through the years, we have witnessed the power of communities coming together and shaping the University through their activism and engagement. Today, Brown's alumni community continues to strengthen the Brown experience to ensure that diversity remains a central focus at the University. Through the ongoing efforts of The Alumni of Color Initiative (AOCI), students and faculty have begun to capitalize on and secure the gains made on our campus in the past while enhancing the Brown educational experience.

The main components of this multi-dimensional initiative are: perpetual support through gifts to endowed scholarships, the Third World Transition Program, Africana Studies, and U.S. Latino Studies.

“The Alumni of Color Initiative recognizes that Brown is a vastly different institution today than it was a generation ago. It is so much more multicultural, so much more diverse, and this Initiative therefore represents an opportunity for alumni of color to demonstrate their support for funding priorities that reflect the interest and desires of alumni of color.”
